General Notes: Husband - Rev. John L. Beaver

He was elected to the ministry of the German Baptist Church, commonly known as the Dunkard Church, June 3, 1859, and after many years of faithful service lived retired on his farm near Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania. Among his most highly prized possessions was a tomahawk, which was carried by his grandfather, Adam Beaver, while a soldier in Washington's army. He was reared after the custom of country youths of his time, helping on his father's farm and attending the neighboring schools as he could. They were conducted on the subscription plan during his early boyhood, but the free-school system was introduced before his attendance ended. He always wielded much influence in the community, and his well- known integrity and sound judgment caused him to be frequently called upon to settle estates. He also served as school director, but never took an active part in politics, and after 1852 did not even vote.

His two wives were cousins.
