General Notes: Husband - David S. Walker

He settled in his native locality, where, by his industry and frugality, he acquired considerable wealth, and became the owner of one of the finest farms in the vicinity, upon which he lived until 1875, when he retired from active business pursuits and moved to Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, at which place he died. He was a great admirer of curiosities and the natural scenery of his country, and visited and traveled in almost every state of the Union during the latter years of his life. He was one of the early excursionists to California over the Pacific Railroad after its completion. Possessed of remarkable descriptive powers, it was always a treat to his friends and neighbors to engage him in conversation after his return from such visits. He was frequently chosen a juror in the State and United States Courts, and in 1876 was a candidate for the State Legislature.
