General Notes: Husband - Adam Thompson

He and his brother John immigrated to America from Ireland at an early date. They landed in Philadelphia, and while there purchased 200 acres of land, in what became Salem Township, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, from a Revolu-tionary soldier, and settled upon the same. They subsequently purchased, in what became Sandy Creek, a farm of 200 acres from David Chess. John subsequently traded his interest in the Salem farm for the Sandy Creek farm, and it then passed to his descendants. [HMC 1888, 1103]
