General Notes: Husband - John Beatty
OBIT: John Beaty (father of Rev. R. Beaty of Erie Conf.) died October 30, 1863, aged 75 years, 1 mo. and 4 days. He was born on the west branch of the Susquehanna river Sept. 26, 1788, and moved with his parents to Venango County in 1792, and settled in the valley of Big Sugar-creek 7 mi. north of Franklin. He was united in marriage with Mary McCurdy in June, 1815. He was awakened and converted to God in 1828 and was a faithful Christian for many years but afterwards lost his enjoyments and remained in that state several years. A short time before his death he again earnestly sought the Saviour and gave evidence that God had restored unto him again his salvation. He leaves a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn their loss which is his gain.

OBIT: Mary Beaty died April 30, 1863 in the 73d year of her age. She was born near Carlisle, Pa., Sept. 27, 1790 and moved with her parents to Venango County about 1806 or 1807. She was led to seek the Saviour under the ministry of Rev. Ira Condit of the Presbyterian Church and found peace in the believing in the summer of 1821 and soon after she united with the Presbyterian Church in which she remained a member until she died. But being near to the Methodist Church and several of her children having joined that church, she and her husband mostly attended the Methodist church for the last ten or twelve years. For years their house was the home of the itinerant preachers whenever they chose to make it so. Mother Beaty was faithful in all her duties as a wife, a mother, and a Christian, especially in training her children. The care she took for their welfare is deeply engraven in their memory. While they mourn her loss may they all meet her in heaven.
