General Notes: Husband - John Foster

Canal Twp, Venango Co, PA
He immigrated to Maryland in 1787, where he remained until 1798, when he came to Venango County, PA, and settled in the Sugar creek valley. In 1800 he purchased a farm. He was a weaver by trade, and followed that business in connection with farming. He was one of the founders of the Sugar Creek Presbyterian church, of which he was an elder for many years. He took an active interest in educational matters, and donated the land for the old Foster school house. He was a soldier in the war of 1812. Politically he was a Democrat. [HVC 1890, 1060]
