General Notes: Husband - Milton P. Suter

He acquired his early education in the common and select schools of his native place, and afterwards engaged in teaching for four years. He subsequently took a course in vocal and instrumental music in the Baxter University of Music, New York state, from which institution he was graduated in 1871. He was then given the principalship of the Franklin Academy of Music, at Winchester, Ohio, where he remained for a year. After resigning his position in the academy he engaged in teaching vocal and instrumental music in different parts of the country until 1886. At that date he returned to the home farm, and then gave his entire time and attention to agricultural pursuits, in which he achieved the most gratifying success. He was a Democrat by inheritance and convictions, and always evinced a lively interest in all community affairs. He was elected assessor in February, 1904, to serve for a term of three years.
