General Notes: Husband - James Younie

He was born in Scotland, and there married, and in the spring of 1834, came to the United States, settling in Sugar Grove township, Warren County, Pennsylvania. He there purchased one hundred acres, the property later owned by Fremont Ellis, on which part of the village of Sugar Grove was built. Later Mr. Younie purchased one hundred acres of the old Robert Falconer estate of William Falconer; the original purchase of this land by Robert Falconer was from the Holland Land Company. Mr. Younie was a member of the Presbyterian church as was his wife. He was a Whig in politics, later a Republican, serving the town as road commissioner. He died in Sugar Grove aged sixty-nine years.
