General Notes: Husband - William Ewing Whitehill

---

He received his education in the public schools, and from an early age assisted his father in the management and cultivation of the homestead farm. He, together with his brothers, Robert and Joseph McCready, purchased the interests of the other heirs, and he came to own one hundred and forty-three acres. He erected a fine dwelling house and a barn, and made many other improvements. He also devoted considerable time to stock raising. He and his wife were members of the Mill Creek Presbyterian Church, in which he served as a trustee for more than a quarter of a century. His political allegiance was given to the Republican party, and he served as road commissioner and as supervisor.
