General Notes: Husband - Aaron Stetler

He was a carpenter by trade, and in early life was engaged in contracting and building, but in 1859 he purchased a farm and devoted his attention to agriculture. On August 22, 1862, he was drafted in the service of his country, becoming a member of Company C, 172d Pennsylvania Infantry, with the rank of corporal, and served until discharged on August 1, 1863, the greater portion of the time being spent at Yorktown, Virginia. In politics he was a steadfast Republican, and he was for many years an active member of the Lutheran Church.
