General Notes: Husband - John Stanton


In 1654 he was sent by the court of commissioners to be educated for a teacher of the Gospel to the Indians, but he did not finish his studies. In 1664 he was the first recorder of Southertown (Stonington), Connecticut. He was captain of one of the Connecticut regiments in King Philip's war, and was in command when Canonchet was captured.
