He and his brother Josiah were members of the party whose applications for land were in the land-office awaiting the first issue of warrants. His land was located next to his brother's on the southwest. It contained three hundred and six and one-quarter acres, and was called "Springer's Lot." The warrant, No. 1830, was granted April 3, 1769, the first day warrants were ever given for land in Fayette County. The survey was made June 22d of the same year. He eventually removed with his family to the West.
