Civil War: He enlisted Sept. 4, 1862, in Co. D, 14th P. C., Sheridan's command, and was in the battles of Winchester, Fisher's Hill, Mt. Jackson, White Sulphur Springs, Rocky Gap, Droop Mountain, Lewisburg, Snicker's Gap, Leesburg and others, being honorably discharged at the expiration of his term of service.
