General Notes: Husband - Vincent Robinson Smith


He attended the public and high schools of Scottdale, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He was graduated from Lafayette College in the class of 1914, and from the Law School of the University of Pittsburgh in 1917, and later in the same year, from the Infantry School of Arms of Harvard University. He was admitted to the bar in Westmoreland County in 1917, and after his return from the army, engaged in practice at Monessen under his own name and did a general law business. His offices were at Monessen and Greensburg. He was a Republican in politics and served as solicitor of the city of Monessen. In the World War he saw two years' service, as a Captain of Infantry in the 80th Division; later as Adjutant of the 394th Regiment Reserves. He was overseas for a long period with the American Expeditionary Forces and took part in the battles fought by this division. He was a member of the Phi Delta Phi and the Theta Delta Chi college fraternities, and several local clubs; also the Presbyterian Church.
