His family lived on a small farm near Springcreek, Warren County, PA. His wife would go by train to Titusville, PA, to visit relatives and upon her return to Corry he would pick her up there. On one of these occassions he was killed - he stepped in front of a train on another track that was passing the one which had stopped to let Myrtle off.
