General Notes: Husband - Dr. Benjamin Franklin Slaughter


His occupation: Physician and Army Surgeon, 17th Infantry, at Fort Rice, Dakota Territory, where he went in 1870. In 1872 he was transferred to Fort Hancock, Dakota Territory. He was the first doclor in the territory. Fort Hancock is now the site of Bismarck, North Dakota.
