General Notes: Husband - J. W. Simpson


He was an only child, was reared on the farm and received a common-school education. He made a business of farming and met with success. His farm consisted of 197 acres of land well stocked and improved.
In politics he was a Republican. In 1864 he enlisted in Company E, Fourteenth Pennsylvania Cavalry, and was discharged May 30, 1865. He belonged to the Masonic fraternity. He was a member of the Waynesburg Encampment, No. 119, and Waynesburg Lodge, No. 467, I. O. O. F., and also of the G. A. R., Post No. 367, Department of Pennsylvania.

She was a zealous member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
