General Notes: Husband - J. Frank Sloan

He was educated in the public schools of Clarion County, Pennsylvania, and in early life learned the trades of painter and paper-hanger. Later, for over twenty years, he was engaged in the undertaking business in Hawthorne. He still did some painting and papering, however, and was likewise interested in farming operations in the vicinity of Hawthorne. In his political convictions Mr. Sloan maintained an independent attitude, in religious faith he was a Presbyterian. In fraternal circles he was a valued and appreciative member of the local lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons.
