Franklin Twp, Fayette Co, PA

He and his wife had twelve children. Ten of them grew to manhood and womanhood. Nine were still living in 1882.
He held the office of justice of the peace for a number of years. He was one of the first justices after the office was made elective in Pennsylvania. He also held other important township offices. He was a member of Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church more than forty years.
