General Notes: Husband - John Shattuck


He had a grant of land in Groton, Massachusetts, in 1664, but did not long remain there. He was a carpenter by trade and employed to run the town mill. He was sergeant of the “train band” under Captain Richard Beers, and served in protecting the town from Indian at­tack.
According to the town records was "drowned while passing over Charleston Ferry, September 14, 1675, aged twenty-eight years seven months three days."
