General Notes: Husband - Joshua Williams Sharpe


He was a distinguished soldier of the Civil War. He entered the service Aug. 16, 1862, as First Lieutenant of Company E, 130th P. V. I., and was promoted to be captain Dec. 13, 1862, his promotion dating from the battle of Fredericksburg. He was breveted major for meritorious conduct in that battle, and after the war was appointed First Lieutenant, U. S. A.
