General Notes: Husband - James Rice Sharp

During the Spanish-American War he and his two brothers sons were in the army. He belonged to the 17th United States Infantry, and participated in the battles which took place about Santiago, Cuba. He became a member of the Society of Santiago. He afterward served in the Philippines, where he contracted disease from which he died.
