He never left Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, but after he was married he moved to a farm near Adamsburg, and after the death of his father, he bought the old Berlin homestead, where he and his wife both later died. They had nine children; Lemuel, one of the younger sons, came to own the old Berlin homestead.
