General Notes: Husband - Henry Shoup


He came to America shortly before the commencement of the Revo­lutionary War and served seven years in that struggle, enlisting in April, 1775, in Captain Huling's company, Pennsylvania militia, commanded by Colonel St. Clair and afterward by Col. James Ward. He participated in the battles of Three Rivers, Germantown, Brandywine and Trenton.

Besides his sons, Henry and George, his family included several daughters.
