General Notes: Husband - Henry Baugher

He was probably the first settler in Cambridge township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, in 1800. He patented the tract in the southwest corner of the township, and afterwards settled on tracts Nos. 130 and 131. He managed to hold a settlement on both tracts by building his double log cabin just on the line; it was later known as the Mercy farm. Mr. Baugher was a very eccentric character. He was a carpenter by trade, and removed to Mercer County, where he passed the remainder of his life.
