General Notes: Husband - Frederick Bauer

He was born in Saxony, Germany, and came to Butler County, Pennsylvania, with his parents when about six years of age. He was reared in that county, received a limited education in the public schools, and continued to work on the homestead until 1863. He lived in Jefferson township until 1867, and then removed to a farm in Summit township, a good share of which he cleared and improved. He and his wife were members of the German Lutheran church, of Butler. He was a stanch Democrat, and was recognized as one of the substantial and progressive farmers of the township.
