General Notes: Husband - Alexander Stewart

He was born upon the homestead farm in Lancaster township, Butler County, PA, attended the district school of his neighborhood, and afterwards learned the carpenter's trade, which, however, he only followed for a short period. He purchased a farm of 150 acres, from D. C. Roth, in Connoquenessing township, and was engaged in farming for more than forty years. He was an ardent Republican, and served as justice of the peace for fifteen years. He was an elder in the United Presbyterian church of Prospect, and was one of the principal contributors towards the erection of the church building in that borough.
