General Notes: Husband - Col. James Scott, Jr.


In his day, he was a leading citizen of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and a prosperous stockman. He possessed a gifted mind, and was a brilliant military officer, having served as colonel of the militia in the War of 1812.
In religious faith he was a member of and elder in the Presbyterian Church.

He participated in the War of 1812, and held a commission as captain, and was afterward colonel of a militia regiment. In 1832-34 he represented Allegheny County in the house of representatives.
