General Notes: Husband - Peter Schumacher

He came to Germantown, Pennsylvania, in 1685. He was a Mennonite, but later united with the Friends. He is the first person definitely ascertained to have come from Kriesheim. (says S. W. Pennypacker.) He bought 200 acres of land from Herman Op den Graeff. The agreement is dated Aug. 16, 1685. The deed is written in the Dutch or Holland language and recorded in the Germantown book.
