General Notes: Husband - George A. Troutman

He may be said to have grown up in the business of which he was one of the proprietors, having been identified with it since leaving school. In 1894, in association with his brother, William J., he bought his father's interest and the firm name of A. Troutman's Sons was adopted.
This family was prominently connected with the mercantile interests of Butler for many years. They had commodious, finely equipped quarters, occupying the entire Troutman building, on the corner of Main and Cunningham Streets, a structure four stories in height, 40 by 160 feet in dimensions, including basement. The firm gave employment to forty to fifty people.
He and his wife resided in one of the finest private residences in Butler. It was situated on the corner of North and Washington Streets and both in architecture and inside finish, was beautiful in the extreme. All the inside woodwork, except in the dining room, was in oak, while that tasteful apartment was finished in mahogany. They were members of the German Lutheran Church at Butler. He was president of the Majestic Theater Company and was one of the builders of that handsome structure.

General Notes: Wife - Amelia Schaffner

Her grandfather, when he first settled in Butler County, Pennsylvania, was accustomed to walk all the way to Pittsburgh, to attend church.
