General Notes: Husband - James M. Weaver

He received a good practical education in the schools of New Washington, Pennsylvania, and was reared to habits of industry on the farm. As his father was in poor health, and traveled much of the time, his son assumed the management of the farm when only about twelve years of age. He remained at home until his marriage.
For three years after his marriage, he operated rented land, and then purchased a 100 acre tract in Burnside township. About ninety-four acres were cleared and placed under a high state of cultivation, a commodious residence and substantial outbuildings were erected. This farm was pleasantly located one mile and a half southwest of New Washington.
During his younger years Mr. Weaver devoted considerable attention to lumbering in the winter season, but later gave his time exclusively to farming and stock raising, keeping on his place only the best and most profitable grades of stock, including a nice herd of Jersey cattle. He was interested in the manufacture of butter, for which he always received the highest market price.
He and his wife held membership with the Pentecostal Church.
