General Notes: Husband - William Smith Rodgers

He attended school until he was sixteen years of age and assisted his father upon the home farm until he was twenty-three years old. Thereafter for ten years he resided on a part of the Rodgers estate adjoining the original homestead, becoming also a partner with George Geiser in the operation of the old grist mill erected at such an early day by J. A. Loutzenhizer on the banks of the Shenango River. After the plant had been rebuilt in 1892 Mr. Rodgers sold his interest and removed to the old Nelson farm in West Salem Township, upon which he remained for twelve years, locating on his present estate in 1905. All of his mature years have been passed in agricultural pursuits and he has long been known as an active elder and a strong supporter of the Reformed Presbyterian Church. [HMC 1909, 717]
