General Notes: Husband - John Robinson

A farmer by occupation, he cleared and improved a farm in Valley township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, and in later life removed to Reynoldsville, Jefferson County.

He was born on West river, near the present site of Slate-lick, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. He was reared on the farm and educated in the subscription schools of the day, becoming a farmer on his own account and following that calling all his life. In his early years he also engaged to some extent in building, assisting in the erection of some of the old structures in the county. In later years he dealt in live stock which were driven into Scranton and across the mountains. In politics he was at first an old line Whig, becoming later a member of the Know-Nothing and Republican parties. He was greatly interested in educational matters, and held a number of local offices. Like his parents, he was a Presbyterian.
