General Notes: Husband - Edward Bartlett

He was born in the state of New York and came from there to Fayette County, Pennsylvania, prior to the Civil War, and in 1876 thence to the borough of Washington. For a number of years he operated the Washington Foundry and Machine Shops.

For one year of the Civil War he served as a member of the First West Virginia Cavalry, Union Army, when he was honorably discharged, his disability being valvular disease of the heart, and from this affliction he subsequently died, although not until forty years later.
