He bought a farm near Bridgeville, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, where he lived and died. He was an elder of the Bethany Presbyterian Church during the pastorate of the Rev. Dr. William Jeffery.

He died in February, 1873. [HWC 1882, 954] Is this confusion with his brother Samuel?
