General Notes: Husband - Michael B. Rich

He was born in Woolrich, Clinton County, Pennsylvania, where he acquired his elementary education, and during the years 1874-75-76 he attended Dickinson Seminary, at Williamsport. On laying aside his text books he entered into business with his father and became a member of the firm, which later continued operations under the firm name of John Rich & Bros. He was a managing partner of the woolen-mill and of a general store at Woolrich, where he had a comfortable and pleasant residence, erected at a cost of $3,000. On the Republican ticket he was elected school director of Pine Creek township and county commissioner, serving in the latter office from 1880 until 1885. He was a faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, served as class-leader, exhorter, Sunday-school superintendent and teacher.
