In the early years of his life he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad as a telegrapher; and after that as Executive Secretary to General Miller in the Galena Signal Oil Company of Franklin, PA. He then attended Chiropractic College and practiced as a Chiropractic physician in the Franklin area the rest of his life. He died suddenly from a coronary thrombosis as the result of surgery for a broken hip.

General Notes: Wife - Nellie Annetta Myers

She was a graduate of Grove City College in the Class of 1904. She taught school in Cooperstown, PA, while attending college and following her graduation in Galloway school. While teaching there she decided to take the Civil Service Examination for Postal Workers. She was offered a position in the Franklin Post Office where she worked for several years prior to her marriage. When her children reached school age she again taught school in the Rocky Grove High School; and in her late years she took a position in one of the last one-room schools in the Franklin area in Franklin Heights. She was the last teacher to teach there before the school was closed permanently.
