General Notes: Husband - Samuel Barr

He traveled quite extensively (for that period) when he was young, teaching school in various places. He married and resided on Reserve tract No. 27, which he inherited from his father. He built a schoolhouse on the northeast corner of tract No. 28, and kept a neighborhood school, of which he was sole director, trustee and teacher. His methods were old-fashioned, but thorough. He died, leaving a widow, six daughters and three sons. In 1896 all but one of his children were still living.
