General Notes: Husband - Gasper Tarr

He was a native of the eastern part of Pennsylvania, but it is supposed came to Westmoreland County when a young man and there engaged in farming, in which line of work he achieved large financial success. He became an extensive landholder, owning almost one thousand acres at what became known as Tarr Station. He was a soldier in the War of 1812, and assisted in the building of Reid's Station, on the Allegheny river, above Kittanning. He was a very wealthy man, a Republican in politics, and a member of the Methodist Episcopal church.
