General Notes: Husband - George W. Raymond


He came to Venango County, Pennsylvania, with his father in 1836. He was brought up at Utica, and obtained a limited education at the common schools thereof. He was early associated with his father's business interests. From 1853 to 1858 he had charge of a furnace at Raymilton; in 1863-64 he was engaged in oil production on Oil creek, and in 1867-68 he was in Montana, as superintendent of a gold mining company. Since 1868 he has been a member of the firm of Raymond Brothers and has charge of the oil interests of his father in this vicinity. [HVC 1890, 1034]


General Notes: Wife - Corra Greenwood West


On the death of her husband, she personally man­aged the Raymond estate of 600 acres with oil wells, farms and numerous houses, as well as managing the private estate left by her husband. The family were members of the Presbyterian Church.
