OIL CITY - L. Gus Schoch, 78, well-known resident of 118½ Washington Avenue, formerly of Rockland, died in the Garmong Conva­lescent Home at 5 p. m. Friday.
Mr. Schoch had been employed most of his life in the oil fields as a contractor. Mr. Schoch, who came to Oil City in 1954 to make his home with his son, Ray Schoch, was born June 23, 1880, in Rockland, a son of Jacob and Anna Snyder Schoch.
He was a member of the Pine Hill Church of God.
Surviving in addition to his son, Ray, is another son, Paul Schoch of Erie; a sister, Mrs. Eliza McKim of Kennerdell; five grand­children and three great-grand­children.
Friends will be received in the Charles A. Morrison Funeral Home.
