General Notes: Husband - John A. Saxman

He attended the local school, and helped his father on the farm, remaining with him until twenty-four years old. In 1895 he opened a lime quarry on his farm and burned lime, selling it in the district. This was one of the largest lime quarries in the section, and its product was recognized as being second to none. In addition he was an engineer in the Dayton Coal Company's mines. A stanch Republican, he served several times as judge of election. Fraternally he belonged to the Modern Woodmen of America, Dayton Camp. He was a consistent member of the Methodist Church.
