General Notes: Husband - John Shale

He was born in England and was engaged in the butcher business, supplying the workers in the colliery of his father, and doing a general meat business. He came to America with his family and settled on a farm in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, a part of which later became West Latrobe. Later he removed further up the Ligonier valley to what is now Long Bridge or McCance, where he opened a tavern which he conducted for twelve years. He became the owner of four farms, one of which he afterward cultivated and made his home there. It was later owned by Joseph Binkey. There he died.

General Notes: Wife - Sarah Preston

After the death of her second husband, she made her home with her son William, in Missouri, and there she died.
