General Notes: Husband - Robert Porter


He served in the latter part of the war of the Revolution as a lieutenant in an artillery company. He was admitted to the bar on the 15th of May, 1789, and practiced law in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, successfully for many years; was appointed by Governor Snyder president judge of the Third Judicial District, composed of the counties of Berks, Lehigh, and Northampton; discharged the duties of this office for many years, and then resigned his commission and retired to private life.

He served as adjutant of his father's regiment during the latter part of the Revolutionary War. [CRFP, 1302]
