General Notes: Husband - Frank D. Barnhart


He obtained his early education in the common schools of Mount Pleasant township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and later attended the Mount Pleasant Insti-tute, from which he was graduated in 1884. He then resided on the old homestead farm. He held the office of school director for six years. He was president of the Westmoreland Agricultural Society, an office. He was one of the organizers of the Jeannette, West Newton and Monogheny Electric Railroad Company. He was a director in the Farmers' and Merchants' National Bank of Mount Pleasant, a director and vice-president of the Mount Pleasant Tool Company, secretary of the Mount Pleasant Creamery Company and director of the Citizens' Building and Loan Association of Mount Pleasant. He held membership in the R. A., No. 592, of Mount Pleasant, in which he passed all the chairs; and also in the W. of A., in which he also passed all the chairs. In religious faith he affiliated with the Reformed church of Mount Pleasant, and was a deacon in same after his father's death.
