General Notes: Husband - John Pickett

Sabine states that Nathan, John and John Pickett Jr. from Redding, Connecticut, came to St. John, New Brunswick, in 1783, with the Loyalists. The Picketts and De Forests went together from Redding. David Pickett of Stamford, another Loyalist, went to Nova Scotia and became treasurer of Kings county and judge of the court, left children: Lewis, Gould, Hannah, John Lewis and David. James Pickett, of Norwalk, went to New Brunswick and died there in 1812. John Pickett was in the French and Indian war in 1757 in a Norwalk company; also David, Ebenezer, Joseph and Timothy, of this family. In New Brunswick, John Pickett (doubtless John Jr., the Loyalist) served in Colonel Beverly Robinson's regiment, 1793. These marriages are recorded at Redding and are of children or nieces of John Pickett: Mary, married, October 2, 1765, Isaac Platt; Rebecca, February 17, 1767, Hubbell Bennett; Grace, January 17, 1765, Eleazer Olstead; Phebe, March 26, 1778, Thomas Rescue. John Pickett Jr. married, at Redding, March 20, 1774, Mary Bates.
