General Notes: Husband - James McClure


He came to Toby township about 1810 (it was then Armstrong County, later Clarion County). He took up a large tract of land in the township, of which his son William H. inherited two hundred and sixty acres. The family were strict Presbyterians, holding the Sabbath in sacred observance to even the smallest detail. They were originally Whigs, later Republicans. James McClure lived to be eighty years of age.
