General Notes: Husband - Richard H. Starke

He was reared and educated in Butler County, Pennsylvania, and at fifteen began to learn the harness-makers' trade. He spent five years at his trade in Tarentum, then engaged in the harness business in Saxonburg two years, and in 1891 returned to Tarentum and formed a partnership with his brother, E. C. Starke. This partnership being dissolved in 1895, he thereafter engaged in the business for himself, and was quite successful. In politics he was a republican, and served in the council three years. He was a member of Pollock lodge, No. 502, F. and A. M.; Lodge No. 240, Knights of Pythias, and of Tarentum lodge, No. 587, I. O. O. F.
