He graduated from the Arts Department of the University of Pennsylvania at Philadelphia in 1885, and from the Medical Department of the same school in 1889. Before beginning to practice, Dr. Scott was a resident of Johns Hopkins Hospital at Baltimore, Maryland, and of the Pennsylvania Hospital at Philadelphia. From 1903 until his death he held the position of Adjunct Professor of Medicine in the University of Pennsylvania.
As a memorial to Dr. Scott a number of his classmates and friends have founded a fellowship in the University, for medical research and helping some student to complete his medical course.
