General Notes: Husband - Michael Peiffer


He was in the Civil War, and participated in twelve minor engagements and the important battles of Chancellorsville, Gettysburg and the Wilderness. He enlisted in Company F, Eighty-third Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry; was wounded at Laurel Hill, taken prisoner, and sent to Libby prison. After four months' incarceration he was exchanged and sent to Annapolis, where he died.
