General Notes: Husband - William Morehead

Of English ancestry originally, the Morehead family was established in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, by William Moorhead, who left Westmoreland County and settled on land not far distant from the present city of New Castle.

He came from Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and settled on a farm in Lawrence County, between New Castle and Mahoningtown, where he spent his remaining years in rural content. He died at the age of seventy-two years, preceding his wife by several years.

He came from the Cumberland Valley to Westmoreland County about 1775. Probably in or shortly before 1800 he moved to what is now Lawrence County, and was one of the first ruling elders in New Castle Presbyterian church.
